Bijagua is a small town located along the Guanacaste mountain range, specifically located between Miravalles and Tenorio volcanoes. It is a small town of roughly 2000 people who are dedicated mainly to farming crops and dairy cattle. Although it was initially thought that Hurricane Otto's impact on Costa Rica would be of little damage, on Thursday night it struck hard in Los Chiles and Upala, towns located on the border with Nicaragua. According to the locals in the area there was an increase in rain and wind speed. Some rivers came to flooded while trees were reported fallen, cuttings all power.
