Costa Rica Travel: Part 3

The most visited place in Costa Rica is San Jose and only due to the airport. But for attractions and more, La Fortuna is the most visited location in Costa Rica. This has become the meca for adventure seekers and nature lovers, thus most routes will take you through La Fortuna. After La Fortuna, a popular spot is Guanacaste but stopping by Monteverde for a couple of nights. Monteverde is nice if you are a hard core nature lover and plan on cold long hikes through the cloud forest. Monteverde also offers and array of orchids, zip lines and wildlife shelters. The downside to visiting Monteverde is the road access which is in terrible shape making the drive to Monteverde a little uncomfortable. You can reach this place on horseback, jeep-boat-jeep or driving there. This is a great place for couples to on a romantic getaway. 

After the cloud forest most journey towards the pacific coast to Guancaste or Puntarenas. The majority will visit Guanacaste for the many options of beaches and all inclusive resorts. Attractive beaches such as Tamarindo Beach and Coco Beach are some of the reasons why Guanacaste is a favorite destination.
